Teaching Assistant – The University of Akron School of Law.
Professor Shaver is seeking a teaching assistant for her year-long LARW course. The TA will provide support to 1L students on a variety of topics, including issues relating to legal writing, writing style (grammar, punctuation, sentence structure etc.), the basics of legal research, and citation form. Familiarity with both WestlawNext and LexisAdvance is required. In addition to being available to meet with students individually, the TA may periodically assist in the classroom. This position begins August 19, 2013. The position requires up to 10 hours per week, and the salary is $10 per hour. Interested candidates should submit a resume by email to eas68@uakron.edu.

Please join the Akron Bar Association’s University of Akron Liaison Committee for a lunchtime cookout on Wednesday, June 19th from 12:15 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on the lawn outside of the School of Law’s West Hall.
Help us support our recent law school grads studying for the July bar exam by stopping for a bite to eat and some fun socializing! All are welcome and encouraged to attend: bar takers, law students, summer clerks, local attorneys, magistrates and judges.

Attention Class of 2014! If you plan to apply for Federal Clerkships, and if you have pending applications, please note that all finalized applications will be released to participating/hiring Judges on Friday, June 28th at Noon. This is also the first date that Judges can contact you for an interview. Please be sure to complete all applications by this deadline (we advise that you complete the applications as soon as possible to avoid delays with the OSCAR system as the deadline approaches). Also, if you are awaiting faculty recommendations, please contact your recommenders at this time. The CPPO is not going to contact any outstanding recommenders on your behalf.
