U.S. Air Force JAG Corps to interview on campus on February 28, 2012
The Air Force JAG Corps will be interviewing 1st years and 2nd years for summer internships and 3rd years for Air Force JAG assignments following law school graduation. These are informational interviews to gauge interest and provide information about the Air Force JAG Corps. Please submit a resume to jeanne2@uakron.edu no later than Thursday, February 9 at 12:00. In addition, interested candidates must submit application materials as outlined below.

The Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps Summer Internship application for 2Ls and 1Ls is now available on www.usajobs.gov.  The link for the 2L internship, paid at a GS-09, is at http://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/306965500 and our 1L internship, paid at a GS-07, is at http://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/307000500.   The announcement will be open until 11:59 on Friday, February 10, 2012.

 Students will need to submit the following:

1. A Resume
2. A complete on-line Occupational Questionnaire
3. A one-page personal statement introducing the applicant and explaining his/her motivation and objectives in applying for a summer internship with the Air Force JAG Corps

4. The applicant’s top five geographic preferences by base or state (listing of bases can be found at http://www.jagusaf.hq.af.mil/ or by calling 1-800-JAG-USAF) and when the applicant would prefer to begin the internship (Monday, May 21, 2012 or Monday, June 4, 2012)

5. Specify on a separate sheet or sheets of paper addressing the KSAs and how they relate to the applicant’s work experience, education and training

6. Undergraduate and Law School transcripts (readable copies are acceptable)

Position Description – The Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is an agency within the U.S. Department of Education responsible for enforcing civil rights laws prohibiting discrimination on the bases of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, and age in educational institutions that are recipients of federal financial assistance from the Department and, with respect to disability, in certain public entities. The Cleveland office, which is located at 600 Superior Avenue, East, Suite 750, Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking 1-3 full-time volunteer legal interns for the summer of 2012. Interns will be participating in casework and legal research in a variety of OCR’s areas of practice. All applicants should show strong writing and communication skills, initiative, and commitment. Applicants must be able to commit to a 12-week internship with OCR. Students are highly encouraged to seek public interest fellowship funds for the internship.
