Responsibilities:  Conduct extensive research on applicable labor laws and regulations and advise the Human Resources Department on compliance issues. • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks relative to terminations, layoffs, and disciplinary actions. • Assist with internal corporate investigations and preparation and execution of sworn declarations. • Assist with defense of various employment claims (e.g., unemployment, wage and hour, discrimination and harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, and constructive discharge). • Draft and/or review legal documents (e.g., employment agreements, bonus agreements, and consultancy agreements). • Organize and maintain HR files in paper or electronic filing systems. • Schedule and arrange meetings, interview, and conference calls. • Draft correspondence to employees, outside counsel, and VSolvit management • Assist in other legal and HR tasks as necessary.

Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship and Summer Associate Position

The 2019 Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship application is now available!  Diverse students who complete their first year of law school by June 2018 are eligible to apply. We will award scholarships to three diverse rising 2Ls for the summer of 2019. Recipients will be awarded a six-week, salaried 2L Summer Associate position in one of our Firm’s offices. Prior to their third year of law school, each award recipient will also receive $10,000.00 to help defray the cost of law school tuition and related expenses.
