Diebold will choose current law students to participate in the six week program occurring at Diebold’s world headquarters in North Canton, Ohio. This will be a part-time internship, of up to 20 hours per week, beginning mid-June. This will be an unpaid internship.

Qualifications: Students currently enrolled in law school who have completed their 1L or 2L year, and who are in good academic standing. Students must understand that the opportunity is unpaid and students can seek course credit and that employment is not being offered or promised. Students will be subject to all Diebold programs, policies and security requirements. Students must have the desire to learn how a corporate legal department functions and the desire to actively participate in legal exercises to gain experience and knowledge regarding the role of the corporate legal department at a large, multi-national, public company.

AkronLawJobs No. 8350 Overview: The Akron Bar Association Lawyer Referral and Information Service Program connects the public with pre-screened attorneys in the legal specialization needed to fill the needs of potential clients. The LRIS Intern role is to assist the LRIS Director by speaking directly with clients via the telephone, conducting intake interviews and recommending attorneys with the appropriate legal experience to resolve the clients’ legal needs. The Intern will also provide administrative assistant support to the LRIS Director as needed.

Duties: Answers the telephone and determines the nature of the client’s problem so as to make an appropriate referral; Maintains files of referral updates; Administration of end of the month reports; Confirms liability insurance coverage for all LRIS members; Researches online court dockets for unreported referred cases; The LRIS Law School Student Intern will work ten (10) hours per week. The Internship is for the Summer 2017 semester (June 5 – August 21) and the incumbent can be reappointed for subsequent semesters.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate has excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to deal with clients of all demeanors. Knowledge of the Windows operating environment, Microsoft Office, and general database usage is required.

Duties: The Law Clerk will engage in research and writing legal memoranda on various topics, review documents, assist with the preparation of criminal hearings and trials, attend court hearings, provide general office and administrative duties, including updating files and records, and calendaring and tracking deadlines. Research and write memorandum or policies on a wide range of issues. Review and/or draft contracts and contract amendments. Assist with the preparation of criminal hearings and trials. Attend court hearings, pre-trials, and trials. Assist in processing Public Records Requests and Worker’s Compensation matters. Lend support in procurement process including, but not limited to, drafting of Request for Proposals, Requests for Qualifications, Requests for Information and bidding documents. Maintains and analyzes federal, state and local legislation affecting Cleveland Metroparks. Provides training and development activities to Cleveland Metroparks staff, as required. Provide general office and administrative duties, including updating files and records, and calendaring and tracking deadlines. Performs related duties as assigned or apparent.

Qualifications: Must be a law student currently enrolled in an accredited law school within the United States. Must have a good driving record (less than six (6) active points on driving records at the application stage of the hiring process) and possess a valid Ohio driver’s license. Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings. Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization. Strong business acumen, including problem solving, vision, ability to manage multiple programs and meet deadlines, collaboration, leadership, decision making and ability to analyze diverse facts and develop clear and concise reports and recommendations. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Proficiency in Westlaw, traditional web search databases such as Google, and software programs including all Microsoft Office programs. Mature professional attitude and considerable discretion, including ability to manage confidential information. Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative.
