Howes Educational Award is specific to Soroptimist International of Canton/Stark County, and honors the effort and scholarship of a woman attending a college or university to earn a certification, baccalaureate, masters or doctoral degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law-related fields. Women from the Northeast Ohio area ages 18 and older of all income levels are eligible to apply. Judging is based on four areas: effort toward education, scholarship, extracurricular activities and financial need. Neither Soroptimists nor family members of Soroptimists may apply.

Law School Diversity Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Recipient is a member of an ethnic or racial minority or any individual who demonstrates a defined commitment to issues of diversity within their academic career.
Recipient is a U.S. citizen currently attending an accredited law school within the United States.
Academic achievement as reflected by a minimum 3.0 GPA and have completed at least one semester of classes at an accredited law school.

Injury Trial Lawyers, APC Scholarship Opportunity
$1,000 Award to a current or aspiring law student.
The requirements for the scholarship are:
- The scholarship is based on an essay ranging from 500-1250 words and can be on any topic,
- Applicant should be interested in becoming an attorney or currently enrolled in law school,
- Applicant must be a college or law student in the U.S.,
- Applicant must have some sort of financial need or have financial aid obligations,
- Must be a part or full-time student (proof of status will be required before award is distributed),
- Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident,
- Deadline to apply is February 1st (awarded annually).
