The George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy

The Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing (AG Bell) has a scholarship program for students enrolled in an accredited School of Law.

The George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy is for full-time graduate students with a moderate to profound hearing loss who are attending an accredited law school full-time.

The George H. Nofer Scholarship for Law and Public Policy was established to recognize the late George H. Nofer’s service and generosity to AG Bell and to the fields of law and deafness research and education. Mr. Nofer, who at the time of his death was a retired partner of the law firm of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP in Philadelphia, was a former member of the AG Bell board of directors.

The 2025 program awards are for the 2025-2026 academic year. Three (3) scholarships of up to $5,000 each will be awarded.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You use listening and spoken language as your primary mode of communication.
  • You have a pre-lingual hearing loss (diagnosed prior to your fourth birthday).
  • Your hearing loss must be bilateral and in the moderately-severe to profound range.
  • You have been accepted at or are enrolled in an accredited law school as a full-time student for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Kanoski Bresney Stand up to Distracted Driving Scholarship

Distracted driving, including due to texting and other cell phone use, is a serious issue that leads to hundreds of thousands of accidents and injuries in the United States each year. The problem is especially prominent among teen and young adult drivers, and teens are also at a greater risk of being the victim of a distracted driving accident.

At Kanoski Bresney, we want to support students who do their part to fight the problem of distracted driving. Through the Kansoki Bresney Stand Up to Distracted Driving Scholarship program, we are offering five scholarships, in the amount of $1,000 each, to students in the U.S. who are pursuing higher education at the undergraduate or graduate level.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

You are eligible for the Kanoski Bresney Stand Up to Distracted Driving Scholarship if the following are true:

  • You are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited U.S. college or university, and your education will continue through at least the Fall 2025 semester.
  • OR
  • You are a high school senior who will be starting your college or university education in Spring or Fall 2025.
  • You are a U.S. citizen.
  • You have a current overall GPA of at least 3.0.

OVC, INC. Lawyers Give Back Scholarship

Who Can Apply?

You can apply for the Lawyers Give Back Scholarship if you are interested in pursuing a law degree and you meet the following criteria:

  • You are at least 18 years of age
  • You are a U.S. citizen
  • You have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • You are enrolled in an accredited U.S. undergraduate program or law school for the upcoming semester.

Crowder Law Firm Scholarship

We are a law firm based in Plano, Texas that greatly appreciates intelligence, diligence, and determination. We aim to share this appreciation with students through the Crowder Law Firm Scholarship.

Each semester, we offer two awards valued at $1,000 to students pursuing a higher education who satisfy the following requirements, including:

  • A 3.6 GPA or above
  • Is enrolled at an accredited university or college for the Spring 2025 semester
  • Holds citizenship or permanent residency in the United States

Our application deadline is December 18, 2024, with a winner to be selected by January 20, 2025. It is our goal that you share this exciting scholarship opportunity with your students.

Environmental Litigation Group P.C. Asbestos Scholarship Fund

ELG has awarded over $2.5 million in its asbestos scholarship fund so far, and for 2024, we are offering three scholarships of $5000, $3000, and $2000.

The eligibility criteria for our 2024 scholarship program are the following:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old and U.S. citizens.
  • Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a U.S. accredited two-year or four-year university, community college or junior college, or a graduate degree program.
  • Applicants must have a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher
  • Applicants must be students who witnessed a parent, sibling, or other immediate family member battling cancer
