Virginia M. Wagner Educational Grant

Soroptimist International of Canton/Stark County offers cash awards for the Virginia M. Wagner Educational Grant. This award was designed to help women achieve their higher education goals. The awards from the local club are $550 for first and $500 for second place. Additional awards may be given. The District Award for the District winner is $250 and the Regional Award is $1,500. This award is available to a woman currently seeking a baccalaureate or higher degree.

The following criteria are some of the aids in the selection process:
1. Effort toward education
2. Scholarship
3. Extracurricular activities
4. Financial need
5. General impression

Deadline for all applications is January 15,2011 and should be mailed to the address below.

Upper-Division Scholarship Application Deadline EXTENDED to November 1

The deadline to apply for upper-division scholarships has been EXTENDED to Monday, November 1, 2010 at 5 pm Eastern time.

Note that first-year law students are not eligible to apply for these scholarships this year.

Scholarship awards will likely be distributed in February 2011 for fall 2010 and spring 2011.

The Richard Linn American Inn of Court Mark T. Banner Scholarship for Law Students

The Richard Linn Inn of the American Inns of Court is proud to offer the Mark T. Banner Scholarship for law students. This scholarship is part of The Richard Linn Inn’s commitment to fostering the development of intellectual property lawyers of high ethics, civility and professionalism, and especially those from diverse backgrounds.

Law students in a Juris Doctorate program at an ABA-accredited law school in the United States at the time of filing the application and who will continue in that program through the fall semester 2011 are eligible to apply for the Mark T. Banner Scholarship in 2010.

Donald W. Banner Diversity Scholarship

Banner & Witcoff, Ltd. is pleased to offer the Donald W. Banner Diversity Scholarship for law students. This scholarship is part of Banner & Witcoff’s continuing commitment to fostering the development of intellectual property lawyers from diverse backgrounds.

The Donald W. Banner Diversity Scholarship is open to all students currently enrolled in an American Bar Association accredited law school and pursuing a career in intellectual property law. The applicant must be a member of a historically under represented group (including race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and disability) and must have exemplary writing and oral communication skills.
