ATTENTION: UPPER DIVISION LAW STUDENTS
The School of Law is accepting applications for the David D. Dowd Sr. Memorial Award named in tribute to a distinguished attorney who dedicated his entire life to public service. The award was created in 2007 by his son, Senior District Court Judge David D. Dowd, Jr. on the occasion of the recognition of his 25 years of service in the federal judiciary.
The purpose of the Dowd Award is to promote a commitment to public service for all lawyers. Awards are directed to Akron Law students considering public careers while in school and interested in seeking professionals careers in public service following graduation.
To be eligible, you must have:
- Completed your second year by the Spring of 2010
- Show a commitment to public service to date
- Be capable of working the summer of 2010 for at least ten weeks in a public placement
