Broslavsky & Weinman, LLP ESSAY CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES:

  1. Eligibility: The contest is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (and the District of Columbia), Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  2. Agreement to Official Rules: Participation in this Contest constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s and Host’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to this Contest.
  3. Timing: The Contest begins on at February 2nd, 2024 9:00 AM PST and ends on December 14th, 2024 12:00 PM PST.
  4. How to Enter : During the Contest Period, you can enter at: www.bwcounsel.com/scholarship. Then, follow the directions to fill out the form and upload the essay.
    Essay (3 pages or less), entitled “How Social Media Impacts the Law” known as your submission (“Submission”).

Essay Guidelines:

  • The Submission must be in a Microsoft Word format
  • The Submission must not exceed 3 pages
  • The Submission’s description must be in English
  • The Submission cannot have been plagiarized
  • The Submission cannot have been submitted previously in a promotion of any kind or exhibited or displayed publicly through any means.

Prize:

One (1) $1,000 College Scholarship (terms and conditions apply). Approximate Retail Value: $1,000. Prize is non-transferable and no substitution will be made except as provided here in at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Winner is responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use. Limit: One (1) scholarship per person.

Prize Awarding:

Potential winner will be notified by either email, mail or phone approximately 48 hours following the conclusion of the Contest Period. If a potential winner cannot be contacted or prize is returned as undeliverable, potential winner forfeits the scholarship. If a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, the prize may be awarded to a runner-up, if any, at the sole discretion. Up to three (3) alternate winners may be determined, after which the applicable scholarship will remain un-awarded.

Acceptance of prize shall constitute and signify winner’s agreement and consent that sponsor may use the winner’s name and/or scholarship information in connection with the essay contest for promotional, advertising or other purposes.

Spencer & Associates Community Leaders Scholarship

To help students who are seeking a career in public service and who have an interest in helping others in their communities, we have created the Spencer & Associates Community Leaders Scholarship. Through this program, we provide financial assistance to college students who have demonstrated an interest in serving their communities and who are pursuing careers in criminal justice, law enforcement, or other legal fields.

Through the Community Leaders Scholarship, our firm awards $1000 each semester to an undergraduate or graduate student. Please see the requirements for eligibility and the instructions for applying below.

The deadline to apply for the Spring 2025 scholarship is February 10, 2025.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the Community Leaders Scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:

  • Low to medium income – An applicant must be from a household with an annual family income of $100,000 or less.
  • Community service – An applicant must have a demonstrated interest in service to their community, with a history of volunteer work or other forms of community involvement.
  • Field of study – A student must be enrolled in or planning to enter a program in the fields of criminal justice or law enforcement, or they must be enrolled in or planning to attend law school.
  • Age – A person must be at least 17 years old on the date they submit their application.
  • Legal status in the United States – An applicant must be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.

The Vet Law Office Supporting Our Heroes Scholarship Opportunity

The Law Office of Edward M. Farmer now offers one $1,000 scholarship per semester to undergraduate or graduate students who wish to pursue a career in advocating on behalf of veterans. The Supporting Our Heroes Scholarship is currently open to applications for the Spring 2025 semester.

Students must apply for the Spring 2025 award no later than February 10, 2025.

Applicants must plan to pursue a career in advocating on behalf of veterans.
