Justice Roberts Scholarship – Erie County Bar Association
The purpose of the Chief Justice Samuel J. Roberts Scholarship Fund is to provide financial assistance to law school students from Erie County, Pennsylvania, enrolled in accredited law schools.
Who is Eligible?
Residents of Erie County, Pennsylvania who will be entering their first year at an ABA-accredited law school are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Assuming the availability of funds, and provided that the student maintains a satisfactory academic record, the scholarship may be renewed for the student’s second and third years’ of law school.
The Scholarship
The Chief Justice Samuel J. Roberts Scholarship provides financial assistance for tuition, room/board, books/supplies and travel.
Application
Applications will be accepted during April and May of each year. Potential candidates may fill out the online application or request an application from the Erie County Law Foundation, 429 West Sixth Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16507, 814-459-3111. You must also print and complete the authorization and release form included with the application. Announcements of the availability of the scholarship are made annually. Applications and authorization and release forms must be completed and returned to the Erie County Law Foundation by May 31 of each year.
For renewal of scholarships, the same application procedures will apply. Determination of renewal will be based on law school academic records and funding, with the Scholarship Committee deciding whether the student’s academic progress is satisfactory.
The Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee will review all applications, making its decisions based on established criteria, focusing primarily on financial need, academic achievement, and the applicant’s career statement. The Scholarship Committee includes numerous Erie County Law Foundation Trustees, Erie County Bar Association members, former Scholarship recipients, and laypeople.
Allen County Bar Foundation Legal Opportunity Scholarship
I am reaching out to inform you of a scholarship opportunity for students from underrepresented racial or ethnic groups who are from Allen County, Indiana or planning to practice law in Allen County.
The scholarship will provide up to $2,500 to a law student for law school tuition and fees or bar exam preparation and up to $1,500 for an undergraduate student for Law School Admissions Test fees or test preparation services. The scholarship application is available on the Bar Foundation’s website at: Allen County Bar Foundation Legal Opportunity Scholarship – Allen County Bar Association. The application deadline is June 2, 2023, with the award announcement in July 2023.

Miami County Bar Association – J. Andrew Fulker Scholarships – for full-time law students who are residents of Miami County
The Scholarship Committee of the Miami County Bar Association announces it is currently receiving applications for scholarship grants from the J. Andrew Fulker Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Fund was established, in cooperation with the Troy Foundation, as a lasting tribute to Troy Attorney J. Andrew Fulker who died in an auto accident in 1989.
Andy Fulker was a 1971 graduate of Troy High School. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University in 1976 and his Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in 1979. He was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio in 1979 and became a partner in the Troy law firm of Faust, Harrelson, Fulker & McCarthy. He served as Assistant Municipal Prosecutor for the City of Troy from 1979 to 1982 and as counsel for the Miami County Planning and Zoning Boards from 1979 through 1981. He was a member of the Miami County, Ohio State, and American Bar Associations, the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys.
The scholarship fund is designed to assist deserving law students who are residents of Miami County. Recipients of J. Andrew Fulker Memorial Scholarship grants will be selected by the Scholarship Committee of the Miami County Bar Association. Grants will be used for law school tuition. To be eligible an applicant must be admitted for full-time attendance at a college of law or law school in a program designed to lead to a Juris Doctor or similar law degree.
