Sidney B. Williams, Jr. Scholar Program

The Sidney B. Williams, Jr. Scholar Program of the Foundation for Advancement of Diversity in IP Law (FADIPL), as well as the financial assistance and other benefits currently available to awardees interested in a patent law career.  FADIPL will be making at least 12 additional Scholar recognitions for the 2022 1L class. This financial and other support is available to selected STEM-educated individuals who identify as members of racial or ethnic groups that are underrepresented in the patent law profession and who are admitted (or seeking admission) to an ABA-accredited law school.  Benefits include: A tuition grant award of up to $5,000, as reimbursement for any costs associated with the law school application process. Consideration for $30,000 law school tuition grant awardsThese awards are payable over the selected awardee’s 1L-3L years. Connection to an experienced IP professional as a mentor, access to 1L/2L summer patent clerkship opportunities, networking opportunities within the organized IP bar, and no-cost participation in the Practicing Law Institute’s Patent Bar Review Course.  A full description of benefits is available on the FADIPL website. For any eligible candidates seeking admission to law school in 2022, applications for the Scholar Program must be completed before April 30, 2022.  The application process is also currently open for individuals who plan to seek law school admission in 2023.

Allen County Bar Foundation scholarship opportunity

The Allen County Bar Foundation is offering scholarships for law students and undergraduates from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups who are from Allen County or plan to practice law in Allen County. The application deadline has been extended to March 31, 2022.

The scholarship will provide up to $2,500 to a law student for tuition and fees or for bar exam preparation and up to $1,500 for an undergraduate student preparing to take the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). The Edwards Law Firm Community First Scholarship

The Edwards Law Firm represents clients in Corpus Christi and surrounding areas. Our firm is incredibly passionate about community involvement and helping those in need. We plan to extend this passion to current and aspiring college students across the nation through The Edwards Law Community First Scholarship.

This semester, we will be offering a scholarship worth $1,000 to a student enrolled at an accredited college or university in the United States who aspires to use their higher education to make a positive impact on their community. Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be a United States citizen
• Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
• Must be pursuing a career that makes a positive impact on the safety and well-being of their community

We ask applicants to submit an essay of approximately 500 words along with their application by June 23, 2022.

Kanoski Bresney Stand Up to Distracted Driving Scholarship

Distracted driving, including due to texting and other cell phone use, is a serious issue that leads to hundreds of thousands of accidents and injuries in the United States each year. The problem is especially prominent among teen and young adult drivers, and teens are also at a greater risk of being the victim of a distracted driving accident.

At Kanoski Bresney, we want to support students who do their part to fight the problem of distracted driving. Through the Kansoki Bresney Stand Up to Distracted Driving Scholarship program, we are offering five scholarships, in the amount of $1,000 each, to students in the U.S. who are pursuing higher education at the undergraduate or graduate level.
