Important Opportunity! Scanlon Inn of Court Seeks Students for 2014-15 Academic Term

Scanlon/Bell Inn of Court accepting applications for 2014-2015 Term.

The Charles F. Scanlon and Judge Samuel H. Bell Inn of Court is accepting applications for membership for the 2014-2015 Term. There are eight openings for law students to be Pupils of the Inn. It is an excellent opportunity for those students to expand their network of Akron-area lawyers and judges.

The Inn was founded by leading members of the Bar, including Federal District Judge Sam Bell, in collaboration with the Akron Bar Association and the University of Akron School of Law. It has maintained its vigor by enrolling new members who want to learn and share information about ethics, public issues, and advocacy through the programs offered by the Inn.

CQE Clinic Volunteer Training – Monday, May 12, 5:00pm – 1Ls welcome!!

Our next free Certificate of Qualification for Employment (CQE) clinic is Tuesday, May 13! We’re very excited to be providing opportunities for ex-offenders in Summit County to take a step toward gaining employment and independence!

We are looking for students to volunteer from 4:00p-6:45p on Tuesday, May 13. The clinic will be held at Lake Anna YMCA Community Center, Barberton. The time you volunteer can be applied toward your graduation requirement as pro bono limited means hours.

There will be a volunteer training on Monday, May 12, 5-6:15p at the law school. The time you’re at training will count toward your pro bono limited means hours as well. 1Ls are welcome to attend this training and volunteer at the clinic!!

Puppy and Kitty Day – Wednesday, April 23 and Thursday, April 24!

PUPPY DAY – Take a study break with SALDF! Puppy day is back! Through our partnership with Paws and Prayers, we are excited to bring back our favorite study buddies! Join us on Wednesday, April 23rd from 11-2 pm on the lawn! Please remember to bring cash for donations to this worthy organization!

KITTY DAY – SALDF is proud to present Akron Law’s first ever cat-tastic Kitty Day! Through our partnership with One of a Kind Pets, we are excited to offer the purrfect relief from studying. Please join us on Thursday, April 24^th from 11-2 pm on the lawn. Please remember to bring cash for donations to this worthy organization!

Final IPTLA General Meeting – Tuesday, April 15th!

IPTLA will be conducting their final General Meeting Tuesday, April 15th at 5:30pm in room 214. Dinner will be served to thank everyone for being such wonderful participants this year!

We will be announcing our election results for the 2014-2015 IPTLA Officers. We will also be discussing what these roles entail and start the officer transition.

We look forward to seeing all of our IPTLA members there!
