CQE Clinic Volunteer Training – Friday, November 15, 5:00pm

Our next free Certificate of Qualification for Employment (CQE) clinic is Saturday, November 16! We’re very excited to be providing opportunities for ex-offenders in Summit County to take a step toward gaining employment and independence!

We are looking for students to volunteer from 9:15a-12:45p on Saturday, November 16. The clinic will be held at the law school. Volunteers will meet at 9:15a in the student lounge. The time you volunteer can be applied toward your graduation requirement as pro bono limited means hours.

There will be a volunteer training on Friday, November 15, 5-6:15p at the law school. The time you’re at training will count toward your pro bono limited means hours as well. We will not be training 1Ls at this time; however, there are opportunities available for untrained students to volunteer on the day of the clinic.

SBA Meeting and Bar Review – 10/14 12:30-1 and 5:15-6:15 – L-152 and Thirsty Dog Brewery

First off, congrats to the 1Ls for participating in the democratic process in selecting your 1L officers. SBA will be hosting our second meeting of the year on October 14, 2013. The day meeting will be from 12:30 to 1. And the night meeting will be from 5:15 to 6:15. Both meetings will be in Room 152. We have a lot of exciting things to talk about and events to plan. It’s going to be amazing.

Next on the agenda, SBA will be hosting the 2nd BAR REVIEW of the year. This time we have taken over Thirsty Dog Brewery. This 100% Academic SBA function is a great way to meet some of your other classmates and some of the Upperclassmen. Thirsty Dog always puts on a great night for us which includes FREE tours of their brewery. The Bar Review is at their private bar, where they have their BEERS on display. Mon. Oct 14 5:15pm – 6:15pm Moot Court Brief Writing Training Session

Moot Court is excited to announce its first training session of the year. This training session will focus on important aspects of writing a good brief. Like all Moot Court training sessions, all students are welcome to attend. New and existing members of Moot Court are required to attend. Those who tried out this year and have not heard anything back yet are also encouraged to attend. We will update all those who tried out with their status as soon as possible. 

 

The training will take place on Monday, October 14th from 5:15pm-6:15pm in W-210.

There will be a training on Friday, October 18, 5-6:15p at the law school for our volunteers. Exact location in the law school will be announced at a later date.  

The time you’re at training will count toward your pro bono limited means hours as well.
