Criminal Reform for Youths Forum – April 8, noon, L-165
Akron Juvenile Judge Linda Teodosio will be speaking the topic of criminal reform for youths. The forum will be Monday April 8 from 12-1 in room 165. This is CLE eligible. In the juvenile system, there are many questions that continue to be asked such as: Are children being sent to prison too young? Does the juvenile system actually help children or is it leading them into a life of crime? Are kids getting off too easy just because the have not yet reached 18? These are the pressing questions facing the juvenile justice system. Judge Teodosio is an expert in this field and will be able to provide our current law students much insight.
TRIAL TEAM TRYOUTS: Saturday, April 20, 2013 9:00 am- 3:00 pm
Akron Trial Team will be holding TRYOUTS on SATURDAY, APRIL 20, STARTING AT 9:00 a.m. and continuing through the day. It’s never been a better time for incoming competitors! Please sign up for a 10 minute slot on the signup sheet located in the Legal Clinic. All people trying out must give a short opening statement or a closing argument no longer than 5 minutes in length. The case that you will be arguing is a criminal case, and the packet is also located in the Legal Clinic. There will be several informal meetings where you will have the opportunity to talk with Coaches to learn more about Trial Team, as well as two sessions to work with Officers and Coaches to prepare for tryouts. You DO NOT WANT TO MISS this amazing opportunity to learn valuable skills, work with top trial attorneys, and advance your career.

Moot Court Honor Society Internal Competition – Saturday, April 13
Join the Moot Court Honor Society in our Annual Internal Competition!
All law students are invited to participate in the MCHS Internal Competition on Saturday, April 13th. The competition will begin in the morning, with the final rounds occurring immediately following lunch. A special prize will be given away to the winner of the competition!
