SBA – Bar Review – November 16 – Thirsty Dog Brewing Company, 8 pm

Join the Student Bar Association (SBA) for our final Bar Review this Friday, November 16th! We will be having a private beer tasting at Thirsty Dog Brewing Company from 8-9:30 (with drink specials sponsored by Barbri) and an after party at Ray’s Pub in Highland Square! Thirsty Dog Brewing Company is located at: 529 Grant St., Suite B, Akron, Ohio 44311. Come out and celebrate with us one last time before finals!

Akron Law Bears Arms – Nov. 9 – 6:30-9:30 pm

Join the Student Bar Association as we celebrate the Second Amendment this Friday, November 9th from 6:30pm – 9:30 at Laser Quest in Fairlawn located at 80 Brookmont Rd., Akron OH! Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from 12:15pm – 1:15pm and 5:30pm – 6:30pm in the cafeteria every day this week!   Your ticket gets you not one, not two, but THREE games of laser tag and Donato’s dinner sponsored by Barbri! You must purchase your tickets in advance, and you must arrive by 6:30pm in order to play.

GSLA MEETING – Wed. Nov. 7. – 12:15 – L-167

The executive board of GSLA would once again like to thank everyone for coming out to the Charity Drag Show.  Thanks to your donations to our amazing performers, we were able to raise well over $500 for the Trevor Project so that they may continue to offer help and support for LGBTQ youth and young adults across America through their crisis and suicide prevention programs.  GSLA’s next meeting is scheduled for November 7, 2012 at 12:15 PM in Room L-167.  Our own Prof. Huhn will present a program on the status of current same-sex marriage litigation, we will discuss new GSLA programs and goals influenced from the Lavender Law Conference, and finally, we will talk about speakers and volunteer opportunities available to members next semester.  If you would like to join GSLA, but will be unable to attend our next meeting, please email Elisa at ejw23@zips.uakron.edu.

SELS presents Socratic Karaoke!

Where: Thursday’s Lounge, 306 E. Exchange Street, Akron

When: THIS FRIDAY — November 9th, 10 pm-close

The Sports and Entertainment Law Society invites you to Socratic Method Karaoke, the official after-party to SBA laser tag. The Socratic method applied to karaoke means you can “call on” your fellow law students to sing the song of your choice for $1 (and get out of singing for a $1). Cover = $3 for non-members, no cost to dues-paying members. Come and have some fun with us!
