Wayne Watkins will speak about IP management this Wednesday, September 28, at 12:15pm in Room 167.  For companies, entrepreneurs, and even universities IP can be a business asset rather than simply as a legal right.  IP management examines strategies to maximize the value of IP.

Wayne Watkins serves as Associate Vice President for Research at The University of Akron and as Adjunct Professor and Intellectual Property Fellow at The University of Akron School of Law.  He directs The University of Akron programs in intellectual property management, emerging enterprise creation and support, technology-based economic development, and university/industry collaborations.  He has taught courses in Intellectual Property Management, Technology and Innovation, Business Policy, and Global Business.  He has degrees in mechanical engineering (B.S.M.E.), business (M.B.A.), and law (J.D.).

The Jewish Law Students Association will have a general meeting this Wednesday, September 28th, 2011 in L-134 at 12:15 pm.  We will discuss our upcoming events, including an Israel-Palestine debate with the Federalist Society, our 2nd Annual Potluck Dinner, and much more.  Everyone is encouraged to attend!

Please join the Gay-Straight Law Alliance on Tuesday, October 4 for “Achieving Equality,” a presentation on the recent repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, the Defense of Marriage Act, and a host of other legal battles and victories that have affected the LGBT citizens of the United States over the past twenty years.

Beginning at 12:30 PM in room L-165, GSLA will host attorneys Carrie Davis and Melissa Bilancini from the ACLU of Ohio as our distinguished speakers as part of the Constitutional Law Center’s Constitutional Litigation Series.  Lunch will be provided!
