PAD – Membershp Information Table – Today and Tomorrow, Student Lounge, 9 am – 2 pm

Phi Alpha Delta will be having a membership information table in the student lounge on Wednesday, August 31st and Thursday, September 1st from 9am to 2pm.  Come talk to current members and a representative of our national organization to learn about the benefits of becoming a member of our professional law fraternity.

CORRECTION: ACJS – General Meeting – September 8, 12:30 pm, W-215

The Akron Criminal Justice Society will be having a general meeting on September 8 at 12:30 pm in W-215 to discuss plans for the rest of the semester. One of the events we will be discussing is a trip to the U.S. Supreme Court to listen to oral arguments on October 3, 2011. We will also discuss possible visits to Summit County Courts as well as jail visits to both the Summit and Mahoning County Jails. Pizza will be served.

IPTLA – General Meetings, Sept. 7 at 12:15 and 5:30, Room L-167

The Intellectual Property and Technology Law Association will be holding its first meetings on Wednesday, September 7, at 12:15 and 5:30, both in room L-167. All are welcome and encouraged to come and find out more about IPTLA! Food will be served. Intellectual property law is not just for those students that have a technical background. anyone can practice in most areas of IP law without a technical degree.

SELS – General Meetings – Sept. 6, 12:20 (W-214) and 5:30 pm (W-210)

The Sports and Entertainment Law Society will hold its first meetings of the semester on September 6 at 12:20 (room W-214) and 5:30 pm (Room W-210).

We will hold elections for the two student officer positions available including president and vice president. If you are interested in running for one of these positions, please join, and post a short description of why you think you would be great for this position on the group’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/213626415362753/ SELS will also be soliciting ideas for possible events, speaker topics, and fundraising for the upcoming year. We will be forming committees based on the projects proposed at this meeting so if you are not elected for an office, members can also chair or simply participate in a committee. Even if you are not ready or able to take a position as an officer, committee participation is a great way to build your resume. Hope to see you there!
