All students are REQUIRED to take a one-hour substance abuse lecture before they are permitted to take the Bar Exam in the State of Ohio.

FREE substance abuse lectures are offered to the entire law student body (not just for graduating students) only ONCE during the fall semester and ONCE during the spring semester.

SUPREME COURT RULES FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF THE BAR OF OHIO

A certificate from a law school or a continuing legal education sponsor, certifying that the applicant has received at least one hour of instruction on substance abuse, including causes, prevention, detection, and treatment alterna-tives. Substance abuse instruction that is provided by a continuing legal education sponsor qualifies under this section only if it has been accredited by the Commission on Continuing Legal Education as an approved sub-stance abuse activity under Gov. Bar R. X.

16TH Annual Law Student Closing Argument Competition – WIN SCHOLARSHIP MONEY!!!!!

It’s that time of year again, and we are excited to announce the 16th Annual Law Student Closing Argument Competition. Attached please find a flier we would like you to immediately distribute to your 2nd and 3rd year law students who are interested in competing in a competition scheduled to take place Thursday, October 2, 2014, at the Cuyahoga County Courthouse.

IN 2013 – AKRON LAW WON 1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD PLACE!! Let’s keep the tradition going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The event is sponsored by the Landskroner Foundation for Children, a child advocacy organization, which attempts to advance and protect the rights of children, further children’s issues and promote the good and welfare of children in need or at risk.
We are offering law students from your institution the opportunity to take part in our competition.

There are monetary scholarships for the top three place finishers, $750, $500, and $200 respectively.
Space is limited, do not delay.

Meditation unravels many positive qualities hidden within us. It brings forth dignity with cordiality and humility with firmness. It also brings creativity, intuition and clear communication skills.

Please join us for guided meditation sessions every Monday and Thursday this fall starting from Aug 28 through Dec 04 from 12:30-01:00 pm in Student Union Meeting Room 310 or Student Union Ballroom C 303 (only on Sept.09, Sept.25, Oct.09, Oct.16, Nov.06, Nov.13).

All faculty, staff and students are welcome. No prior training is required.
