If you are planning to graduate in December 2014, you must apply for graduation no later than July 1, 2014!

Tuesday, July 1, is the graduation application deadline for law students planning to graduate at the end of the 2014 fall semester. Late applicants will need to obtain the dean’s permission.

Students must apply for graduation through ‘My Akron’. Step-by-step instructions for submitting a graduation application in ‘My Akron’ are available by clicking the Graduation Services link in the “Quick Links for Students” section of ‘My Akron’.

Please note that, per University policy, all obligations to The University of Akron must be reconciled prior to degree candidacy (i.e., commencement program notation, ceremony attendance and degree conferral).

Great Networking Opportunity: Scanlon Inn of Courts

Scanlon/Bell Inn of Court accepting applications for 2014-2015 Term.

The Charles F. Scanlon and Judge Samuel H. Bell Inn of Court is accepting applications for membership for the 2014-2015 Term. There are eight openings for law students to be Pupils of the Inn. It is an excellent opportunity for those students to expand their network of Akron-area lawyers and judges.

The Inn was founded by leading members of the Bar, including Federal District Judge Sam Bell, in collaboration with the Akron Bar Association and the University of Akron School of Law. It has maintained its vigor by enrolling new members who want to learn and share information about ethics, public issues, and advocacy through the programs offered by the Inn.

If you are interested in associating with judges and lawyers, please consider applying. To do so, send your resume and a letter or email to Clair E. Dickinson, Brouse McDowell, 388 South Main Street, Suite 500, Akron, OH 44311, cdickinson@brouse.com, by June 2, 2014.
