Pursuant to the by-laws set forth,
1) All students are invited and encouraged to participate (1L, 2L, 3L)
2) Each student will:
a. Obtain practice in the area of client interviewing,
b. Gain invaluable feedback from attorneys to carry forward in jobs and the clinics,
c. Build their resume,
d. Work with a classmate to improve skills,
e. Learn client confidentiality,
f. Have a fantastic time!

It is unnecessary to have any experience or time for preparation. Students are asked to simply participate on the dates set forth.

Mediation Training Winter Intercession Course

Mediation Spring 2016

REGISTRATION:  The mediation courses will be given during the Spring 2015-2016 intersession — the interim between the Fall and Spring semesters. They are considered Spring 2016 classes and will be listed In the Spring 2016 Schedule of Classes  listed online.  Since these classes tend to fill up very quickly, you should register for them as soon as your registration date opens.

*HOW TO OBTAIN PERMISSION FOR TRANSFER OF CREDITS  and HOW TO REGISTER INSTRUCTIONS FOR LAW STUDENTS

Non-joint degree law students must complete the Request to Transfer Graduate Courses Toward JD Degree located HERE (or copy and paste http://www.uakron.edu/law/docs/Transfer_of_Graduate_Credit_Permission_Form.pdf)  and submit to the Dean’s office for Assistant Dean Ivy Banks’ approval prior to registrationInstructions and details are included on the request form.

 NOTE:  Joint degree-seeking students are not eligible to receive permission to transfer either mediation course toward their JD degree.

Reminder: Mandatory Advising Sessions October 12 and 13

Please attend one of the Mandatory Advising Sessions for your division:

1L and 2L part-time Students

1L and 2L part-time students have sessions on Monday, October 12.

Please come to either the 12:00 – 1:00pm session in Room 151, or the 5:15 – 6:15pm session in Room 165.

2L, 3L, and 4L Students

2L, 3L, and 4L Students have sessions on Tuesday, October 13.

Please come to either the 12:00 – 1:00pm session in Room 151, or the 5:15 – 6:15pm session in Room 165.

Student Services will be in the Atrium on both October 12 and 13 from 12:00 – 2:00pm and 4:30 – 6:30pm to assist with any academic advising questions you have.

Also, Cora Moretta from the Office of Student Financial Aid available during these times in the atrium to answer your financial aid questions.

Please note:  if you do not attend your division advising session, a registration hold will be placed on your account.
