Cleveland, OH – Law Clerk – Immediate Need – Gertsburg Licata

Part-Time (10-20 hours per week)

Description: A growing corporate and business law firm, Gertsburg Licata, seeks to add an enthusiastic and hard-working law clerk. The law clerk will assist supervising attorneys in all stages of client matters including client communications, conducting legal research, and reviewing/drafting legal documents. The law clerk will gain experience in both transactional and litigation matters. The law clerk will be encouraged to practice problem-solving skills within the context of various legal issues and engage in discussions and strategy planning with the supervising attorney.

Qualifications: Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school as a rising 2L, or rising 3L.

Medina, OH – Civil AND Criminal Division Law Clerks – Medina County Prosecutor

Rising 2Ls and 3Ls. Criminal Division Clerk: Prepare Rule 16 discovery for all juvenile and adult felony cases; Research unique legal issues and advise Prosecuting Attorneys on findings; Prepare briefs and motions for submission to the court; Assist in trial preparation and criminal case management. Hours: 24-32 hours/ week, flexible scheduling with mid-June start date.

Pay: $11/ hour

Civil Division Clerk

Rising 2Ls and 3Ls: Research unique legal issues relevant to the operations of a county government and prepare legal briefs and memoranda on those findings; Draft legal documents for active civil cases

Hours: 16-24 hours/ week, flexible scheduling

Pay: $11/ hour

The Akron Law Review Write-On Competition will run from May 9, 2021 at 8:00am – May 23, 2021 at 11:59pm. All competition materials will be available on Brightspace under the Law School Student Resources page starting May 9th.  
Those who have completed their first year of law school with a 2.9 GPA are eligible to compete.  
Invitations to join Law Review are expected to go out in June. 
If selected to be on Law Review, students will go through two mornings of summer training (dates to be determined by the administration) and will be enrolled in the fall Legal Drafting course on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30pm.
