The library recently acquired a collection of books and ebooks on antiracism, diversity in law school and the legal profession, and race issues in law. The books are listed on the library’s Diversity and Anti-Racism in Law guide.
Join the IPTLA as it hosts Daniel Thomson, partner at Emerson Thomson Bennett, for a discussion about trademarks, the Trademark Clinic and the name change of the Cleveland Indians to the Cleveland Guardians.
Registration is now open for our annual Akron Law Cares event, Saturday, September 18th from 8AM – Noon. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in Akron Law’s annual day of service. Student volunteers will earn Community Service of Limited Means hours toward the Pro Bono graduation requirement.
The day will begin with a kick-off at the School of Law (with donuts and coffee), and then volunteers will be directed to their respective community partner sites for a morning of volunteer work and fun. This year, community partners include: Akron Food Bank, ACCESS, Haven of Rest, Joanna House, Salvation Army, Richfield Heritage Preserve, First Tee – Greater Akron, Valor Homes, Broken Chains, Keep Akron Beautiful, and CORE Furniture Bank. Many of the volunteer projects will be outdoors.
Each volunteer will receive a t-shirt. Please join us to give back to our community and celebrate 100 years of Akron Law!
