Akron, OH – Law Clerk – Immediate Need

Hiring Criteria:  1L (part-time), 2L, 3L Students.  Applicants must have undergraduate degree that enables them to take the Patent Agent Exam, but having passed that exam is not a prerequisite. Preferred undergraduate degrees, in order, are Electrical Engineering, BioChemistry/Life Sciences/Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering

 Duties:  50% litigation support and 50% intellectual property prosecution; 10-20 hours per week subordinated to course work and students.

Akron, OH – Civil Law Clerk – Akron Municipal Court

The Honorable Jerry K. Larson is looking for a second-year law student to maintain the civil docket of his court. Duties include but not limited to reviewing civil complaints, answers and motions that are pertinent to the assigned cases of the court. Research and present the points of law and appropriate legal solutions and orders to the Judge.  Communicate between all interested parties of the civil suit. Schedule all civil actions on the docket. Prepare proposed orders, notices and entries. Accompany scheduled meetings between Judge Larson, attorneys and defendants.  Must be able to work in a diverse office environment.
