Interested in Animal Law?

Akron Law’s Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF) is a student organization providing a forum for education, advocacy, and scholarship aimed at protecting the lives and advancing the interests of animals through the legal system. Animal Law is a growing field consisting of many areas. It involves companion animals, wildlife, entertainment, research, food production, trafficking, animal cruelty, and more. While some attorneys pursue full-time Animal Law work, many work in other areas but devote time to Animal Law related causes through pro bono work.

Volunteers Needed!! Ohio Supreme Court Off-Site Visit

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!!

As part of the Akron Law Centennial Celebration, The Ohio Supreme Court will be holding off-site arguments at The University of Akron on Tuesday, Oct. 26 and Wednesday, Oct. 27.  We need approximately 15 volunteers each day to serve in a variety of roles while the court is on campus.  Volunteers will be needed in 2-hour increments between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. each day.  Volunteers will earn community service hours!!

Law Association for Women Apparel Sale 

Our LAW apparel sale has started! Below is the order form. We will collect orders in person at the Women in Law Lunch  Panel and virtually. Orders can be sent virtually to Emily Towers using VENMO (Emily-towers-1) and EMAIL (ect25@uakron.edu). All orders should go to Emily Towers.

2L+ BARBRI Mastery Series

The switch from zips.uakron.edu email addresses to uakron.edu email addresses is the gift that keeps on giving! (Most of) your BARBRI accounts were established with the zips email address, and the link in BARBRI’s system between your old email address and your new one system has been imperfect.

If you are a 2L student (or higher) you SHOULD have access to the BARBRI Mastery Series, but I have heard from some of you that you still do not.

Please log in to your BARBRI account and confirm that you are able to access the 2L/3L Mastery series. (You can confirm this by using the settings cog in the upper right corner of the screen and selecting “My Courses.” If you have access, the 2L/3L bead that appears on the right side of the screen will be green and say, “Access Now.”)

If you do NOT have access to the 2L3L Mastery Series, please complete the survey here so I can make sure that BARBRI makes the necessary changes to your account.

In the mean time – if you moved up to the 2L level this year and have not yet picked up your BARBRI outline book, please stop by the ASP suite (217) to pick yours up. (If you missed it in a prior year because you were taking classes remotely, feel free to stop by as well.)
