Student Animal Legal Defense Fund will host their first semester meeting (Tuesday, September 11th) at 12:15 in room W214. We will be discussing exciting upcoming events, including speaker Robert Farinocci to address being an Equine Lawyer, volunteer opportunities, and the upcoming ALDF conference in Portland, Oregon.  Delicious vegetarian appetizers from Aladdin’s Eatery will be provided for all that attend.

Wednesday, September 12

8 a.m.  – 9 a.m.– International Law Presentation with Matthew Wilson (Associate Dean of Student Affairs & Associate Professor of Law at the University of Wyoming College of Law)– Room W215. Prof. Wilson will offer tips, insights and thoughts on traditional and non-traditional career opportunities involving international law, both in the U.S. and overseas. Also, learn how to get involved in international opportunities during law school.  A light breakfast will be served.

12:20 p.m.  – Army JAG Information Session with Capt. Farley- Room 133. Learn about summer and post-grad opportunites with the Army JAG Corps.

CPPO presents: A Day in the Life of … a Trial Attorney – Tuesday, September 18. RSVP today.

“A Day in the Life of a Trial Attorney” will take place on Tuesday, September 18 at 12:20 and 5:15 in Room 133 with Attorneys Rocco Yeargin, George Emershaw and Rhonda Gail Davis (12:20 workshop) and Attorneys Rocco Yeargin, Nancy Grim and Charlie Grisi (5:15 workshop), who will speak to law students and offer insight into life as a trial attorney.  Seating is limited so please RSVP to Jeanne Kennedy (jeanne2@uakron.edu) by Friday, September 14th at 12:00 Noon.  Students will be notified by the CPPO if they are participating.  Please be sure to RSVP early for this exciting workshop series!  Food will be served.  Also, stay tuned for the next workshop in our series!

 

SBA General Meeting – 9/12 at 12:15pm

Please join the Student Bar Association for our first general assembly meeting on Wednesday, September 12th at 12:15 and 5:15 in room W214.  As students of the University of Akron School of Law, you are automatically a member of SBA, so this is a great and easy way to get involved with school organizations.  We will be discussing all of the traditional and newly added events upcoming for SBA this fall.  Pizza Hut pizza and refreshments will be provided.
