If you or your organization is still wanting to donate an item to this year’s Annual Public Interest Auction, please let Melissa Marino know by January 23. If you are donating an actual item (i.e. basket, jewelry, tickets, ect.), please have the item taken to the Law School Clinic or make arrangements to give it to Melissa by January 27. The Black Lawyers Association of Cincinnati (BLAC) welcomes students to apply for the 2012 William A. McClain Scholarship. The McClain Scholarship is awarded to a Black student and Cincinnati resident attending any ABA accredited law school who demonstrates leadership potential and dedication to community.

Summer Associates work on a broad range of legal projects and are exposed to all practice areas within the firm. Summer Associate projects typically involve conducting legal research and drafting memoranda and court documents. Summer Associates also routinely accompany our attorneys to depositions, client meetings and court appearances. Students may complete WestlawNext Certification training on Thursday, January 26th at 12:20 in West Hall Room 214. The training will be hosted by Akron’s Westlaw Account Manager, Ryan Vandegrift. Lunch will be provided, and students will earn 250 WestlawRewards Points for attending.
WestlawNext Certification is a national program that law students complete to learn advanced skills on WestlawNext. The training concludes with an online quiz for students to complete to demonstrate that they are certified. Once complete, students may add “WestlawNext Certified” to their resumes to demonstrate to employers that they have taken their research skills to the next level.
