Akron, OH – Legal Intern/Intellectual Property – Bridgestone Americas, Inc.

2L Students – This position requires a law student with a background or class work in Intellectual Property.    Familiarity and/or experience dealing with trademarks, patent, copyrights, etc. as well as familiarity with manufacturing operations, is a plus.  This position offers hands-on experience in IP with a full-service, in-house intellectual property group.  Strong written and oral communication skills and sensitivity to confidentiality issues is required.  Familiarity with Microsoft products is beneficial.

 About the Opening – This position is with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The position conducts legal research as assigned by attorneys and analyzes research data such as statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes and documents. This position involves legal writing, assistance with litigation matters and regulatory filings with occasional delivering and filing of legal documents. The individual will also check legal forms and documents for accuracy, organize and track case files and monitor new or updated regulations. The position is located at FirstEnergy’s corporate offices in Akron, Ohio and reports to Managing Counsel.

 Qualifications – Currently attending Accredited Law School; Minimum of 2nd or 3rd year student in good academic standing;  Familiarity with administrative law or a regulatory environment preferred.  Experience with WestLaw. Able to work with minimal supervision.   Able to work 40 hours per week during summer (June to August) and 20 hours per week during academic year (September to May).
