Career Planning Presents: Fall On-Campus Interview Preview Workshop — TODAY -Wednesday, April 14 at 12:15 and 5:15

ATTENTION ALL 1Ls, 2Ls, AND RISING 2E’S AND 3E’S – IT’S TIME TO START THINKING AHEAD TO THE FALL INTERVIEWING SEASON! Although it may seem a bit early, the Career Planning Office is already planning ahead to the Fall 2010 recruiting season. Hundreds of letters have gone out and many phone calls have been made inviting law firms, corporations, public interest organizations and government agencies to participate in our Fall On-campus Interviewing Program here at the Law School.  All students should plan to participate in the Fall On-Campus Interview (OCI) Program. This can be a very confusing process so the Career Planning Office is hosting a Fall OCI Preview workshop TODAY, Wednesday, April 14 at 12:15 and 5:15 in Room W-206.  Upper class students who participated in last fall’s OCI program as well as hiring partners from several Northeast Ohio law firms will be here to talk about their experiences and the do’s and don’ts of the OCI process. You don’t want to miss this workshop!!  Lunch will be served to those who attend.

Ohio Women’s Bar Association President to Visit Akron Law School – Thursday, April 15 at 12:15 in Room 152

OWBA’s current president, Lisa House, will visit Akron Law School on Thursday, April 15 at 12;15 p.m. to speak about the general topic of Success in Law and hold a question/answer session for law students. Ms. House has travelled around the state o f Ohio to meet with law students and we are very excited for her to be here at Akron Law School. This is a great networking opportunity and a wonderful chance to hear advice and insight from a successful attorney. Sponsored by the Career Planning Office.

The Honorable Thomas A. Januzzi is seeking a Summer Judicial/Legal Assistant. Duties:  1. Assists Judge with typing plea entries and other entries. 2. Assisting with scheduling. 3. Assisting with check-in procedures. 4. Possible limited research. 5. Working knowledge of Word and Excel. Good typing skills. Needed 2-3 days per week.

Job Opportunity – Special One Week Project for Testa Real Estate Group – Resumes/Cover Letters Due to Career Planning by Thursday, April 15.

Testa Real Estate Group in Cuyahoga Falls seeks a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year law student to work on a one week project developing lease abstracts for the company. Must have completed the contracts course and have an interest in real estate. Project involves reviewing commercial lease agreements and developing lease abstracts for each tenant. This is a special project that will need to be completed at Testa’s corporate headquarters in Cuyahoga Falls. Great opportunity to get some real world work experience on your resume.
