PIABA Beckley Writing Competition
The PIABA Foundation is hosting a law student writing competition on September 17, 2021 5pm. The 1st place winner received $1,000 and their paper is published in the PIABA Bar Journal, the 2nd place winner will receive $750 and the 3rd place winner will receive $500. Volunteer with the Marathon!
The Akron Municipal Court is looking for volunteers to help out at an Akron Marathon Fluid Station on Saturday, September 25. The station is at mile 5.7.
The race begins at 7:00 a.m. and the final walker will pass by this fluid station by 9:00 a.m. The bulk of runners/walkers will be coming through between 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Our main priority will be distributing cups of water and keeping an eye out for people who might not be able to finish the race due to heat exhaustion or another issue.
We are looking for roughly 10 volunteers total and you are welcome to bring friends and family of any age. Those 12-years-old or older who volunteer will have to show a vaccination card or a negative COVID-19 test.
