CQE Clinic Volunteer Training – Friday, Feb. 20, 4:45pm

Our next free Certificate of Qualification for Employment (CQE) clinic is Saturday, February 21st! We’re very excited to be providing opportunities for ex-offenders in Summit County to take a step toward gaining employment and independence!

We are looking for students to volunteer from 9:45a-12:45p on Saturday, Saturday, February 21. The clinic will be held at the Akron Bar Association. The time you volunteer can be applied toward your graduation requirement as pro bono limited means hours.

There will be a volunteer training on Friday, February 20th, from 4:00pm-5:00pm at the law school. The time you’re at training will count toward your pro bono limited means hours as well.

Also, because of confusion at previous clinics, Professor Sahl will be holding a MANDATORY supplemental training session Friday, Feb. 13th at 3pm that will focus specifically on criminal record searching.

Etiquette Dinner, Thursday, March 12th
5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Student Union Ballrooms BCDE
Nothing will prepare you better for your professional life than attending UA’s Etiquette Dinner. It will help you get ready for
a successful interview, learn fine dining etiquette and master your networking skills. Also, you can network with local
employers. The first 10 students to email Director O’Brien (ab139@uakron.edu) can attend the dinner free of charge!
All other interested students can register to attend for $5!

Cohen, Placitella, Roth Scholarship

Cohen, Placitella, Roth PC has organized the Cohen, Placitella, Roth Scholarship worth $2500. This scholarship is intended to help students who are seeking a future career in law. Applications are due May 31, 2015. More details and scholarship application may be found on their website at scholarship-2015.
