JOIN US AT THE EVENT

 

Come for Chinese cuisine and stay for the live performances! Please join us in celebrating the Year of the Sheep!

 

Our annual Chinese New Year Gala will be divided into two parts: Banquet and Performance. Banquet will take place Friday, Feb. 20, from 6: 30 to 8: 00 p.m. at the Lobby of Akron Art Museum, followed by live performances from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Auditorium of Akron-Summit County Public Library.

 

The event is our opportunity to celebrate the most important holiday in China together. It is going to be the biggest event of the year. Join us, bring your family and friends, and be part of our community!

 

Tickets Purchase:

  • UA students can purchase tickets for $5 in advance and $6 at-the-door;
  • General public can purchase tickets for $8 in advance and $10 at-the-door.

ATTENTION May 2015 GRADUATES
Are you taking the July Ohio Bar Exam?*
If yes, then here is your opportunity to begin to prepare.

Akron Law is offering a free workshop series called ESSENTIAL LEGAL CONCEPTS (ELC) to help prepare you for the upcoming July bar exam.  The workshop will focus on your understanding of the bar exam and provide you with essential skills needed to effectively study for the Ohio Bar exam.  Akron Law strongly encourages your enrollment in this workshop, although it is not designed to replace any bar exam preparation course you are taking, but rather to be a supplement.

The workshops will be held on the following days from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Law School (Room L-152):

Saturday, February 7 – Introduction to the Ohio Bar Exam

Saturday, February 14 – Focus on the Ohio Essay Exam

Saturday, February 21 – Focus on the Multistate Bar Exam

Saturday, February 28 – Focus on the Multistate Performance Test

*If you are a current student and not taking the Ohio bar, the course may not be catered to your specific bar exam, but you are still welcome to participate.

Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association Environmental Law Fellowship

2015 ENVIRONMENTAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM
Since 1994, the Environmental Section of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association has
awarded scholarships to law school students working in the public or non-profit sectors in unpaid
summer internships. Scholarships are awarded to law students who attend law school in
Northeast Ohio or those who wish to work in the region and allow them to take unpaid internships
at nonprofit organizations or governmental agencies. The scholarship amounts vary depending on
the funds raised and number of applicants chosen. You must have secured an unpaid internship
in order to apply for a scholarship. For more information and an application, stop by the
CPPO.

Robert E. Donovan Memorial Scholarship for Female Law Students

Attention Female Law Students – Please consider applying for The Robert E. Donovan Memorial Scholarship ($4,000 one-time scholarship award). All female law students graduating in December 2015 or later are eligible to apply. The application form is available in the Career Planning Office and must be submitted by February 16, 2015 for consideration.
