Akron Law’s IP Center is hosting its 18th Annual Symposium on IP Law and Policy on Monday, March 14, 2016. We have a great lineup of speakers coming to talk, including our keynote speaker, the Hon. Evan Wallach, a judge on the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The other presentations will focus on developments in copyright, trademark, and patent law; best practices in trade secret protection; a couple presentations on international IP issues (prosecution and litigation); a discussion on responding to copyright, patent, and trademark trolls; and a presentation on ethical issues relating to IP.
Not only will you learn a tremendous amount about IP law, but you’ll have the opportunity to have lunch at a table with 5-7 practicing IP attorneys from across northeast Ohio and throughout the country. This is a great chance to network and start developing relationships with your future colleagues. Some former students secured jobs based on conversations started at this conference. If you can only make it for part of the program, then that’s fine too.
Registration is free for Akron Law students, but you do need to register. If you’d like to attend, please send an email to Shannon Aupperle (sfauppe@uakron.edu) letting her know that you’d like to attend the symposium, and send along your name, email address, and whether or not you’re staying for lunch.
