Duties will be related to Case, conference, argument, and trial preparation, plus research and drafting. Clerks have significant responsibility in dealing with counsel in matters litigated in the courtroom, in addition to advising the judge on all case-related matters. Qualifications: Current 3L. Must be positive, courteous, and an effective representative of the Court. Must have the appropriate level of preparation and self-confidence to speak and deal candidly with the Judge in the discharge of his obligations. Must work well with others. PREFER: A consistent record of proven high academic performance. Top 15% of your law class. Positions of leadership. His Honor has a modest preference of students who have ties to the Western District of Pennsylvania. This is only a preference – not a prerequisite.
