ALLSA Meeting TODAY! 

Please join the Asian-Latino Law Students Association (ALLSA) for a general body meeting TODAY at 12:15p.m. in Room 325. We will review proposed changes to our constitution, discuss event ideas, and elect the 2018-2019 executive board. The following positions are open:

Membership Chair

Reed Smith LLP’s 2018 Deborah J. Broyles Diverse Scholars Program

The Deborah Broyles Diverse Scholars Program provides two $20,000 awards to be used to defray necessary expenditures related to her/his legal education for the second year of law school, as well as a paid summer associate position after completion of the second year of law school. The program is open to first-year law students who have demonstrated excellent academic scholarship and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Scholarship applicants must submit a resume, a completed application, a personal statement, law school transcript, undergraduate transcript and a legal writing sample to: DiverseScholars@reedsmith.com

Summer associate positions in 2019 are available in: Century City; Chicago; Houston; Los Angeles; Miami; New York City; Philadelphia; Pittsburgh; Richmond; San Francisco; Silicon Valley; Tysons; Washington, D.C., and Wilmington. Applications must be submitted on or before July 20, 2018.

Early Start Bar Study Group & Review for ALA final

The Early Start Bar Study Groups this week (and next week) will serve as reviews for the ALA final exam – and will meet at different times this week  because I have prior commitments on Friday and Saturday.  All sessions meet in L-325

  • Wednesday 6:30 – 8:30 – MPT write
  • Thursday 1:00 – 3:00 – MPT write
  • Sunday 1:00 – 3:000 MPT write

(No Friday or Saturday groups this week)

Even if you’re not in ALA, you’re welcome to join any of the sessions to get a head start on writing MPTs for the bar exam!

We’ll walk through as much as we can get through in 2 hours.  I’ll have a sample answer available so you can check the parts we didn’t get to.

(Next week the sessions will be double sessions – and we’ll write contracts and tort essays similar to those on the final exam.)
