SBA Public Interest Auction is Tomorrow

Please join us this Friday, April 6th for our annual Public Interest Auction. The night will include live and silent auctions, a cash bar, a live jazz band, trivia, bingo and more! Items being auctioned off include golf with President Wilson, a signed Tristan Thompson hat, Cav’s gear, and various prize baskets. Tickets can be purchased here: https://commerce.cashnet.com/LAWORG. Please remember that in order to qualify for a Public Interest Fellowship stipend for this upcoming summer you will be required to purchase a ticket to the Public Interest Auction! All proceeds raised at the auction will go towards the Public Interest Fund and help provide our students with much needed income for the summer.

Scalia Speaks Featuring Ed Whelan & Dean Oldfield

Join the Federalist Society for the final event of Scalia Week today in room 180 from 12:15-1:15 as we discuss the life and legacy of Antonin Scalia with his former law clerk and close friend, Ed Whelan, and Akron Law’s own Dean Oldfield. Ed Whelan is the coauthor/co-editor of the recently released book “Scalia Speaks: Reflections on Law, Faith, & Life Well-Lived,” and is the President of the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, D.C.. The event is open to the public. Free Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers will be provided to all who attend!

Canned Immunity is Back!

Hello everyone, its that time of year again! Women’s Law Association and Animal Legal Defense will be tabling for Canned Immunity from  April 2nd through April 6th at  12:15 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. Canned Immunity is where you either donate specific items or give $2 for a ticket or 3 tickets for $5, so that you will not be called on in class. We are donating to One of a Kind Pet Rescue and a battered women’s shelter.

Supplies donated will go to One of a Kind Pet Rescue and money donated will go to the battered women’s shelter.  The supplies donated must be pet food and other pet items.
