Overview: A semesterly scholarship from The Doan Law Firm awarding five $1,000 prizes to current or former lifeguards pursuing undergraduate or graduate study in the U.S.; intended to honor and support lifeguards who protect public safety.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Held a lifeguard position for at least one year or currently employed as a lifeguard
- Enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited U.S. undergraduate or graduate program for the Spring 2027 semester
- At least 17 years old
- U.S. citizen
Application Requirements:
- Completed application via the OVC Scholarship Network
- Essay (~500 words) or a video (up to 3 minutes) answering: “What has been your most meaningful accomplishment as a lifeguard?”
- Proof of enrollment (or acceptance) at a university/college
- Proof of current or prior lifeguard employment (e.g., supervisor-signed work log)
- Any additional documents required by the OVC Scholarship Network
