Duties: The externship opportunity at National Interstate Insurance will afford students the opportunity to work with the Claims Compliance team to gain exposure to a variety of insurance and regulatory issues arising from the operations throughout the United States. Externs will conduct legal research, prepare summaries of state law issues for the adjusters, assist with compliance audits, attend meetings with claims professionals, and learn how the insurance industry works.

Qualifications: 1L (second semester in spring 2019) or 2L, have strong research, writing, and analytical skills, and have the ability to interpret, organize, and communicate complex factual and legal material quickly.  Must be detail oriented, creative, articulate, and personable with excellent interpersonal skills.

Con Law Symposium this Friday at 1:30 PM in Room 180!

Please join us for the upcoming winter symposium sponsored by the Con Law Center and UA’s Bliss Institute on Friday, January 25 at 1:30 PM in the Brennan Court Room.  “50 Years of the 25th Amendment: When a President is Unable to Discharge the Duties of Office” discusses section 4 of the 25th Amendment and its provision for the Vice President and the cabinet to remove a president from office due to disability.  We have some big names presenting, including Dr. Bandy Lee who has been in the papers recently, John Feerick, the originator and drafter of the 25th Amendment, and Harold Koh, who has written the recent report on the implementation of the 25th Amendment.
