Responsibilities: Under direction, types a variety of documents for Judges and Magistrates; transcribes dictation; schedules court hearings; generates and mails hearing notices; generates daily hearing schedule reports; answers multiple telephone lines; enters data into court case management system; answers public inquiries regarding court forms, procedures, and case schedules; copies and mails judgment entries; transports files and documents to and from other offices; organizes and prepares files for hearings, and provides a variety of other clerical tasks to assist with the operation of the Court.
Essential Job Functions: Operates a computer and/or typewriter in order to prepare a variety of documents – e.g. Judgment Orders, etc.; Operates a computer to enter and retrieve case schedule information, view and print documents and case dockets, and prepares files for magistrates’ review; Receives telephone calls on a multi-line telephone, handles the call, schedules hearings as needed, or directs calls to appropriate parties; Answers inquiries and provides procedural information and forms to the public. Transports files and documents within the court or to other offices; Operates fax machine to send and receive fax communications; Transcribes dictation; Operates copy machine and prepares documents for mailing;
Minimum Qualifications: Three to five years of secretarial experience. Typing at a minimum of 55 WPM; Excellent customer service and communication skills; The ability to handle multiple tasks and multiple telephone lines simultaneously; Proficient in Microsoft Word 2010 or above. MUST be able to move a heavy cart fully loaded with case files throughout the building. Prior experience in the court system and/or dealing with the public is a plus.
Hours: 8:00 – 4:00 Monday through Friday. Some alternate or evening or weekend hours may be required.
Salary Range: $27,000 – $36,802 annually depending upon experience

Duties: Will assist the Office of Chief Legal Counsel by conducting legal research and writing. Projects will vary in nature and may include research on the current status of laws or rules in all states on a particular subject matter. May also be asked to summarize the findings in visually appealing charts and graphs.
Qualifications: 2L or 3L, with excellent research and writing skills.
Dates: October 2019 through May 2020. An average of 15 hours per week, depending upon the projects. Expected to be on-site one day per week, with a possibility of some work performed remotely. While there will be deadlines, there is an opportunity for scheduling flexibility.
