CQE Clinic Volunteer Training – Thursday, February 14th, 5:00pm – 6:30pm

Our next free Certificate of Qualification for Employment (CQE) clinic is Saturday, February 16, 2019!  We’re very excited to be providing opportunities for ex-offenders in Summit County to take a step toward gaining employment and independence!

We are looking for students to volunteer from approximately 8-12pm on Saturday, February 16, 2019. The clinic will be held at The Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, OH 44304. The time you volunteer can be applied toward your graduation requirement as pro bono limited means hours.

There will be a mandatory volunteer training on Thursday, February 14, from 5:00pm-6:30pm for first timers. Location of the training will be announced next week. The time you are at training will count towards your pro bono limited means hours as well. For those who have completed the training once before, you are more than welcome to attend the training for a refresher. However, you may not count the training towards your pro bono limited means hours again.

If you’re interested in volunteering or have any questions, please e-mail Janelle at  jmw376@zips.uakron.edu.  You can also learn more about the clinic at our website: http://www.uakron.edu/law/clinical/cqe-clinic.dot.

YOU MUST RSVP IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND THE CLINIC!!!

National Italian American Bar Association

Dear Sir/Madam:

I write on behalf of the National Italian American Bar Association (NIABA) and as the chairperson of the NIABA Scholarship committee.  We are the national organization for Italian American attorneys and judges in the United States.

Each year, NIABA is proud to offer – from the Anthony & Anne Rosinia Scholarship Fund and  in conjunction with the Order Sons of Italy in America (OSIA) – a $5,000 scholarship to a law student of Italian descent.

I write to request that you notify your law students of the NIABA/OSIA scholarship and to encourage them to apply. Further information about the scholarship is available online and students may apply directly here. The scholarship is awarded each May, but the application is due February 28, 2019, so please be sure to spread the word to your law students as soon as possible!

I thank you very much for taking the time to read this letter and forward the details. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at csalamone@zcclawfirm.com or by telephone at 203-786-3700.

Best Regards,

Cristina Salamone
NIABA Scholarship Chair
