New Database: Proquest Supreme Court Insight

Proquest Supreme Court Insight provides convenient access to U.S. Supreme Court dockets,  petitions, briefs, appendices, oral argument transcripts and opinions.  This database contains cases argued before the Supreme Court only, not cert. denied cases.  Currently, 500 cases from 2004-2014/15 are loaded. Over the next year, content from the current term will be added, as well as content working backward from 2004.  By the end of 2017, the database will go back to 1975.  Proquest’s subject matter indexing allows you to easily find cases on a certain subject, such as particular constitutional amendments, taxation, voting rights, land use and more.

Older U.S. Supreme Court materials 1832-1978 are available via another database, the Making of Modern Law.   For more Supreme Court research resources, including current awareness, historical context and data sets, see the library’s guide U.S. Supreme Court Materials.

Reminder: Watch Your Belongings!

We know that students have a lot on their minds during finals time.  So, the library staff would like to remind law students that they should never leave their valuables unattended in the Law Library, Room 309 study area, in the law building, Central Hower or anywhere on campus.  Your textbooks, book bags, purses, laptops and other belongings can be easily taken in just “30 seconds.”

If you see suspicious behavior, please notify law school employees right away. You can call the University police yourself by dialing 330-972-2911 (if using a cell phone) or 911 if using a campus phone.

More information about campus safety is found here.
