Learn valuable research skills for school and employment

Two ways to get certified:
Option One: On your own. You follow this link and complete 3 modules. Once you complete the modules you take the certification exam.  200 points awarded once you pass the exam. https://www.lexisnexis.com/lawschool/lsp/p/lrchomepage.aspx

If you choose Option One, screenshot the page that says you got certified for entry in drawing and mail it to jennifer.durkin@lexisnexis.com

Option Two: At a certification workshop.  Schedule below. Attend a workshop led by your Lexis Rep, Jennifer Durkin or one of the Lexis Associates at your school.  The workshop will take about 30 minutes but we guarantee you will become certified.

Certification Workshop Attendees will receive 750 points for attending and completing the certification exam.  That’s enough for a $10 Starbucks card! * Note that if you have already attended a training this year, this amount may be slightly less.

Quarantine for Library Materials

The library advises users not to disinfect materials by spraying or wiping them with cleaning solutions or through any other means. We recommend simply quarantining the items for 72 hours. For additional information about library materials and COVID-19 transmission, review the findings of the REALM Project to Produce Science-Based Information to Help Mitigate Exposure to Virus. Materials that are returned to the law library will be quarantined for three days before they are available for use.

Lexis Extends FREE Access for Graduates

We previously announced on this blog that Lexis provides free access to graduates until Dec. 31, 2020. Lexis just announced that graduates will receive free access until Feb. 28, 2021. There are no restrictions on the number of hours graduates can use Lexis during this period. You do not have to do anything to receive the free access through your law school ID.

More information:

  • Graduate Home Page: On or about July 1, 2020, the spring graduates’ view of the Law School Home Page will switch from their current view to the graduate view. This new view will provide helpful information for career and job search needs.
  • Graduation Gift: As soon as they have access to the Grad website, they will be able to select one of four “Graduation Gifts” from LexisNexis. This year’s gifts are the same as last year:
    • Lexis Practice Advisor®
    • Lexis® for Microsoft Office®
    • Law360®
    • One of 13 LexisNexis eBooks

LexisNexis Rewards points expiration

Spring graduates have until June 30, 2020 to redeem their LexisNexis Rewards points. They will receive individual emails reminding them of this, as well as messages posted to social media and the Law School Home Page.

And don’t forget about free Bloomberg Access for one year
and Westlaw access for 18 months.
