Meinhart Smith & Manning PLLC Scholarship

To support the pursuit of excellence in malpractice and personal injury law, a local law firm created the Meinhart Smith & Manning PLLC Scholarship; it will help a student who encountered malpractice, injury, or accident, either personally or through the aftermath of death or injury suffered by a family member or friend, as she or he pursues a higher education.

The $1,000 scholarship will partially defray first-year expenses for a student who has been accepted into an accredited four year university or law school in Kentucky or anywhere in the United States for enrollment in the fall of 2015.

The deadline is August 1, 2015 and the award will be announced on or about August 17, 2015.

First Annual Asian Heritage Law School Scholarship

Gabriel Cheong with Infinity Law Group LLC has announced a new scholarship for law students of Asian heritage. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in January, 2015 and is intended to encourage more Asian Americans to consider law as a career option.

The Asian Heritage Law Scholarship is open to any student who will be attending law school this spring. Candidates are asked to write a short essay describing how their background and experiences in the Asian American community influenced their choice to go to law school and how they plan to use their law degree.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Recipient is a U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the United States
  • Recipient is accepted, and will be attending their first year of law school in the fall of the same year following the application
  • Academic achievement as reflected by an undergraduate cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Recipient must be of Asian heritage with at least one parent of Asian ancestry

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must submit the following by January 12, 2015:

  • A completed Scholarship Application Form
  • One to three (1-3) page typed essay
  • An official and complete copy of undergraduate college transcripts
  • A copy of an acceptance letter from an accredited law school within the United States
  • Proof of legal residency in the U.S. (i.e., birth certificate, passport, permanent resident card, etc.)

AWARD:

  • Infinity Law Group Scholarship is to be used exclusively for law school tuition and related expenses.
  • A check for $1,000 will be made payable to the award recipient’s law school to cover these expenses.
  • Recipient is expected to submit receipts in accordance with IRS regulations.
  • Infinity Law Group Scholarship award recipient will be notified of the selection on or about February 1, 2015.

2015 Davis Levin Livingston Scholarship

The Honolulu law firm of Davis Levin Livingston has announced their second Public Interest Law Scholarship. The scholarship intends to support law students intending to pursue public interest law and add to the ranks of motivated young attorneys willing to consider a career as a public interest lawyer. The firm awarded two $3,000 scholarships in 2014 after finding two extremely worth applicants.

Eligibility

  • Recipient is a U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the United States
  • Recipient is accepted, and will be attending law school in the fall of the same year following the application
  • Academic achievement as reflected by an undergraduate cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA

To support the pursuit of excellence in family law, we have created the 2015 Law Office of Steven Fritsch Scholarship; it will help a graduate as she or he pursues a legal career and will be an advocate for children or a spouse.

The $1,000 scholarship will partially defray first-year expenses for a student who has been accepted into an accredited law school in California or anywhere in the United States for enrollment in the fall of 2015.

“Many of our clients are focused on pursuing their education, when re-establishing themselves after a divorce or custody case,” said Steven Fritsch, founder, Law Office of Steven Fritsch. “Our scholarship is designed to support a student who has experienced the impact of marital dissolution and is inspired to secure a brighter future for her or his clients,” added Fritsch, who is a family law attorney in practice for more than 12 years.

Applicants must submit the following by July 27th, 2015:

  • A completed Scholarship Application Form
  • One to three (1-3) page typed essay describing the personal experience that inspired them to enter law school and study family law.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and an official and complete copy of undergraduate transcripts, with minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • An acceptance letter from an accredited law school within the United States for Fall 2015
  • Proof of legal residency in the United States (i.e., birth certificate, passport, permanent resident card, etc.)
