Bar Examination Misconduct Awareness

The New Youk Board of Bar Examiners has asked the Akron Law administration to  assist in alerting our students who plan to take the New York Bar Examination to read Board Rule 6000.9 on Fraud, Dishonesty and other Misconduct and Security Policy.

The Board routinely imposes penalties on candidates who are found to have violated these provisions.  Examples are included in their letter found here:  http://www.uakron.edu/dotAsset/2284757.pdf.

Although this is directed at New York bar takers, you need to be aware of the misconduct policy for the state you plan to take the bar.  For assistance finding your state’s policy, go to the National Conference of Bar Examiner’s website (http://www.ncbex.org/bar-admissions/) and choose your jurisdiction.

ATTN: FEBRUARY 2012 BAR TAKERS

Need based scholarships are available from BAR BRI, Kaplan, Supreme Bar Review, and now Themis course providers.

The application form may be found at http://www.uakron.edu/dotAsset/2241379.pdf. Deadline:   October 30 for February takers (applications will be accepted after October 30, but it’s best to apply early for best chances at receiving assistance)
