Summer Research Opportunities!

The City of Barberton is looking for an upper division law student for about 10 hours per week this summer (likely not starting until July) to do paid legal research on labor law issues to assist the City of Barberton with their police and fire contract negotiations. Relevant coursework and an interest in labor law is preferred. Some of the work can be done remotely, but working with the Safety Director on the project, in person, is also very important – enthusiasm and communication skills are a must!

The Akron Bar Association is looking for an upper division student to assist with research for a presentation to be held in the fall for corporate counsel. Prefer a student who has taken and excelled in Evidence and Professional Responsibility. We estimate the project to take about 15 hours – student will be paid for the work.

If you are interested in being considered for either of these research opportunities, please email Director O’Brien (ab139@uakron.edu) to express your interest and set forth your relevant qualifications. Thank you!
