Just in time for the holidays, the Law Association for Women is collecting gifts for Angel Tree! This year, we are partnering with Truly Reaching You ministry for our public service project. Truly Reaching You works with men exiting the prison system and gives them a hand up in reintegrating into society. Students will be sitting at a table in the Lounge Wednesday the 17th, Thursday the 18th, and Friday the 19th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. handing out tags for Angel Tree. Each tag has two requested gifts on it for children in need. Each gift should cost between $15 and $20. Gifts should be wrapped and should be put in the box outside of the Law Association for Women office in the Lounge. The gifts are due Wednesday, November 24th. Please take the time to help! Thanks! Between November 15 and December 6, The Black Law Students Association will be collecting non-perishable items in an effort to assemble 50 food baskets to distribute to local families. Students and faculty members are encouraged to place their contributions into the designated Donations Box. This is located in the Law School Lounge outside room 100B. We encourage each student organization to donate a basket for this cause. Each basket costs $20 which provides dinner for an entire family. To make a monetary donation, please contact BLSA Treasurer Terence Baptiste at terencembaptiste@aol.com. We are collecting donations until December 6th, 2010. Each basket will contain 1 Turkey or Ham, 4 Cans of Vegetables, and Two Side Dishes.

BLSA will have a general meeting on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at 5:00pm in Room 151 to discuss current and future business.  In addition, we will also be taking group pictures so please be prompt and dress professionally (court room attire).  Also, the registration deadline for our Regional Conference is approaching.  Please speak with Jonathan McDonald if you are unable to attend the meeting. mcdonald.324@gmail.com.  Food will be provided, so come hungry!

LAW will have a general meeting on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at 12:30 in W-214 to sign up volunteers for Angel Tree and to talk about a conference we are considering attending in March.

Come enjoy a delicious home-cooked Jewish meal, prepared by your friends at JLSA (the Jewish Law Students Association).  Meal costs only $5 and supports JLSA.  Take a break from studying!  Hope to see you there.
