Environmental Law Society Seeks Interested Students

This is posted on behalf of Prof. Kalyani Robbins. Questions? Contact Prof. Robbins at kalyani@uakron.edu.

This year the Environmental Law Society lost its office-holding members, which has resulted in the group being somewhat in limbo. As the faculty advisor for the group I am not directly involved in its governance, but would like to step in at this critical juncture to assist in getting it back on its feet. If you are a member wondering what happened, or a student of any class year who would be interested in the group, please email me with your interest and I will arrange a meeting to get started and choose officers. It is not necessary to have taken an environmental course. Although you can join the group at any time, if you are interested in being invited to this initial meeting and having the opportunity to become an officer (or at least help choose them), please contact me by Monday September 27th at noon. I will then work with your schedules to arrange the meeting sometime that week. Thank you!

Akron Public Interest Law Society Meeting – Sept. 21, 12:15 pm

The Akron Public Interest Law Society will hold a general meeting on Sept. 21, 2010, at 12:15 pm in room W-209. There will be snacks, but pack a lunch and come ready to brainstorm. All law students are welcome!

This is an exciting year for APILS, over the course of the year we will be having a number of events and drives, including:

*Kiva lending team
*Book club
*Conference
*Possible speakers
*Coffee Fundraiser

At our first meeting, we will elect officers to replace the positions which are currently vacant, and discuss the agenda for the current year. If you’re interested in participating in the events or have other ideas which you would like to accomplish, we look forward to seeing you!
