Election, WEEK!

Students can now vote to select the 2016-2017 Student Bar Association Executive Board and Class Representatives. Remember, all students are automatically members of the Student Bar Association; therefore it is important that you are all involved in the process of choosing your class representatives and executive board.

The final poll will open on Monday, April 18th at 8 a.m. and close on Thursday, April 21st at 5 p.m. The person with the most votes for each position will win. Each elected individual will receive an email notification, and his or her name will be displayed on the announcement blog. Survey results will include the IP addresses of respondents.

**Unfortunately, we had to postpone the part-time election process due to a lack of nominations. Another email will be sent out next week explaining how the process will resume.

Again, this link will remain open until Thursday, April 21st at 5 p.m., and it will also be distributed via org sync.

An email about the SBA nomination and election process will be in Monday’s Announcement blog. The email explains the entire election process, and it also provides students with a link to nominate their peers for SBA positions. The email, and the link, will also be distributed via org sync.

Good Morning, Everyone!
Mark your calendars for Monday, March 28, because we will be holding our very last SBA meeting of the semester at 12:15 p.m. in room 301 of the library. We will be discussing the much-anticipated Barristers Ball and Elections for next year’s SBA leadership team (executive board). This meeting is crucial because we will be discussing how to run for SBA positions for the 2016-2017 school year.
As always, bring your calendars! Snacks will also be provided!

If you are interested in trying out for Akron Law’s nationally ranked Trial Team program, the time is here. Tryouts will take place on Saturday, April 16 in the CBA starting at 9:00 AM. Tryouts will last for approximately 10 minutes. If you want more information on tryouts or are interested in trying out, you must email Ian Chaves at imc11@zips.uakron.edu.

If you haven’t already heard, tickets are now on sale for the Student Bar Association’s Annual Public Interest Auction. Please see the below schedule to learn when and where SBA members will be selling tickets over the next few weeks.

Date: Friday, March 11th 2016
Location: First Merit Foundation Clubhouse at Infocision Stadium in Akron
Time: 7:30 – 9:00 PM, which is immediately after a CLE event held at the same location from 6:00 – 7:00 PM.

Auction Items: lunch or dinners with professors, golf packages, gift baskets, Cleveland Caveliers apparel, Browns apparel, tickets to the Cleveland Indians, Lake Erie Monsters, and Akron Rubberducks, and so much more!
