TODAY! (Wednesday) Law Grad Fair 3/12 2:30-6:30

REMINDER:

ATTN: December 2013 Graduates and May 2014 Candidates

Please plan to attend the Law Grad Fair on Wednesday March 12th at any time between 2:30pm and 6:30pm.

You will be able to purchase your cap & gown (as well as class rings, diploma frames, graduation announcements, etc.), schedule or complete your exit interview with Career Planning, receive information and make a pledge or donation toward your class gift, purchase Akron Law related merchandise, and check in with Student Services to make sure everything is in order for your graduation.

I will also be on hand to answer questions you may have about the ceremony itself, which will take place on May 18th (details here).

I want to stress that this is the best time to purchase your cap & gown (approx. $135+tax).

Lexis Advance Think Like a Lawyer Certification Classes

WHEN: Monday, March 10th at 10:30am, 11:00am, 11:30am, Noon, 12:30pm, and 1:00pm

You only need to attend one 25 minute session
Pizza will be served at the Noon session–please register so we can order enough

WHERE: Room L-167 BRING YOUR LAPTOP OR TABLET!

WHY: To obtain your “Professional Research Certification 2014” which should be on everyoneʼs resume. Learn the tools you need to be successful this summer and beyond. Once you take the class, you will be given the link for the certification exam. You need to pass the exam to earn the certification.

IL Spring Exam Simulations

Good morning, everyone!

Now that the exam schedule has posted, ASP has set the schedule for exam simulations. Please join us in the last week of classes to simulate the exam experience as an added way of giving you essay exam practice experience under exam-like conditions!

All exam simulations will be held in Room 165 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on the following schedule:
April 21 Civil Procedure II
April 22 Contracts II
April 23 Criminal Law
April 24 Property II

Please bring your laptops to the sessions. You may wish to download a paper version of the exams from TWEN prior to your arrival. The sample answers will be available on TWEN AFTER the exam windows close.

Avoiding Plagiarism

Plagiarism, as defined on the University of Akron Office of General Counsel web page, “is the intentional or unintentional use of the words or ideas of another without acknowledging their source.” Deliberate and accidental plagiarism are treated the same by the University and the School of Law. The University places the responsibility on the students to know what plagiarism is and to avoid it.

Law students caught plagiarizing will be violating the Law School’s Student Disciplinary Code and will be subject to proceedings under the Code. Consequences can be severe and may include dismissal from the University.
