Prof. Vacca Contracts and Prof. Cole Evidence Midterm Examsoft download dates

The download period will run from Monday, October 7th through Monday, October 14th.  Please download your exam files and software during this window.

**As always there will be no excuses for claiming to be unaware of the download period because you are notified in the following ways:

  • Akron Law Announcements Blog
  • Various emails
  • Signs posted throughout the building
  • Digital signage TVs in the lunchroom and in the hallway leading to room 151
  • Professors announce the deadlines in class

Moot Court Brief Writing Training Session: Mon. Oct. 14 – 5:15pm – 6:15pm

Moot Court is excited to announce its first training session of the year. This training session will focus on important aspects of writing a good brief. Like all Moot Court training sessions, all students are welcome to attend. New and existing members of Moot Court are required to attend. 

The training will take place on Monday, October 14th from 5:15pm-6:15pm in W-210.

CQE Clinic Volunteer Training, Friday, October 18, 2013, 5 p.m.

Our next free Certificate of Qualification for Employment (CQE) clinic is Saturday, October 19! We’re very excited to be providing opportunities for ex-offenders in Summit County to take a step toward gaining employment and independence!

We are looking for students to volunteer from 12:15-4:30p on Saturday, October 19. The clinic will be held at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1530 Virginia Ave., Akron. The time you volunteer can be applied toward your graduation requirement as pro bono limited means hours.

There will be a training on Friday, October 18, 5-6:15p at the law school for our volunteers. Exact location in the law school will be announced at a later date.  

The time you’re at training will count toward your pro bono limited means hours as well.

Wednesday, October 16 at 12 noon in Room 151 — Federal Bar Assn presents Judge Jack Zouhary — all students invited and encouraged to attend

Brown Bag Luncheon with
Hon. Judge Jack Zouhary

This informal free luncheon will feature a question and answer sessions with Hon. Judge Jack Zouhary who presides in the US District Courthouse in Toledo, Ohio. 

Hon. Judge Jack Zouhary  is expected to talk about best practices in managing civil cases and several proposed changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure which would impact such proceedings and those involved in them. 

Lunch will be provided.
