The Intellectual Property and Technology Law Association (IPTLA) will meet Tues. Oct.7 from 12:15-1:00pm in room L-167 to discuss our upcoming events, goals, professional networking opportunities, and nominations and responsibilities of a 1L Class Representative.
If you have any interest learning more about Trademarks, Copyrights, Patents, we can’t wait to meet you!

Please note that for students without a technical background, there are still MANY opportunities to practice in the field of Intellectual Property Law.

JLSA Field Trip to Federal Courthouse in Cleveland – Thurs. October 16, 2014

JLSA Field Trip to Federal Courthouse in Cleveland
Join JLSA for a trip to visit Judge Dan Polster at the US District Court for Northern Ohio in Cleveland! We are looking for 8-10 students to observe court proceedings and be part of a private Q&A with Judge Polster. The trip is Thursday, October 16. We are expected to arrive around 12pm at the courthouse. Transportation will include carpooling with details TBD according to attendance. Please contact Laureen Tanner at LMT67@zips.uakron.edu if you are interested. All students are welcome, but it is a first-come basis for availability.

Deadline to apply to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor is Friday at 3:00 PM!

Representatives from the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office will be on campus to interview selected students on Friday, October 24th.

Classes: 2L, 3L (for internships and post-graduate opportunities)
Submit: Resume, Cover Letter, and Writing Sample
Preferred Criteria: Moot Court/ Mock Trial

All applications must be submitted online via Symplicity by Friday, October 3rd at 3:00 PM.

You are REQUIRED to attend one of the following Mandatory Upper-Division Advising Sessions:

  • October 7th     5:30pm – 6:30pm (Room 151)

For law students who are curious about what it’s like to work for a corporation, please join us for a panel discussion hosted by NEOACC.  With more than 35,000 members employed by over 10,000 organizations in more than 85 countries, the Association of Corporate Counsel is the world’s largest community of in-house counsel.

The program will begin with a brief overview of the in-house counsel world, after which panel members will provide their perspectives of in-house counsel life.  An interactive question and answer period will follow.  Feel free to submit questions in advance or at the presentation.
